Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to offer all services?

No, you decide exactly which treatments you will offer at any one time.

How many hours a week do I have to work?

Unlike most beauty jobs, there are no minimum number of hours required. You work independently and can make yourself available as much or as little as you would like. We find that the beauty professionals with the most availability, or those who make themselves available in the evening and at weekends tend to receive the most bookings.

I'm not set up to be freelance yet, can I still apply?

Yes, we can advise on becoming a freelance beauty professional and all requirements of becoming self-employed.

Can I turn down a booking?

Yes, you can choose not to complete a booking if you don't feel comfortable with anything. We only ask that you inform us as early as possible so that we can inform the customer and re-allocate the booking. You also have the option of only accepting bookings from either men or women as well as setting a minimum booking spend.

What areas does Little City Treat cover?

Mobile beauty professionals currently offer beauty services in the City of Edinburgh postcodes EH1 to EH17 and EH22 1, and Newcastle postcodes NE1 to 13, NE15 to 16, NE20 to NE21, NE28 to NE29, NE31 to NE32, NE35, NE37 and NE40.

Do I use my own equipment?

Yes, you will use your own equipment and products for the treatments that you would like to offer. Some treatments will require you to have a massage bed with you.

Do I have to use specific brands/products?

You are not required to use specific product brands. We advise service providers to use premium, well-known brands that customers will recognise.

Can I set a minimum spend?

Yes, you can. You can choose the minimum price a booking needs to be before you can be booked by a client. As the client books they will be shown that you are available, informed of your minimum spend and encouraged to add additional services to meet your minimum spend.

How will I get paid?

Payments from clients are handled by our payment provider Stripe. When the client's payment for the booking is made, you will be paid directly into your own Stripe account. Stripe will then release your balance weekly into your bank account.
